~Watch, Listen, Learn, Love~Food For Thought~

Is this video disturbing? hell yeah. But, it is the epitome of catchy sound and I can look past it's creepy elements and appreciate the artists for their unique musical talent. For some reason,  when listening to this song, I think of a story within a story. In the novel the Hunger Games, Katniss mentions a song that her father had sung in which a man is calling to his love to run away, but eventually pleads for her to come back to him. In the end, the reader and Katniss both realize that the man is dead, that he calls to his lover to join him in death because in the world that they live in, death is the safer option. This imagery is heartrending and strong, and the song itself even brings up the idea with the lyrics "no need to be sad" that death happens, it is natural and in some ways should not be mourned, but celebrated for releasing the individual from struggle and hardship. Wow.
